Gov. Cooper to join President Trump for Florence discussion in Cherry Point

Cherry Point, North Carolina — President Donald Trump will arrive in North Carolina on Wednesday morning to tour areas affected by Hurricane Florence.

Air Force One is expected to land at the Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point in Havelock at about 10:30 a.m. From there, the president will join North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper to provide a briefing on the Hurricane Florence recovery effort. The pair is expected to tour areas impacted by the storm following the briefing.

At 2 p.m., Gov. Cooper will hold a second media briefing on Hurricane Florence at the Newport Fire House in Craven County.

Republican 7th District Congressman David Rouzer will join Trump in North Carolina. Rouzer’s district includes much of the area damaged by the storm, including Wilmington and Goldsboro.

President Trump is also expected to make a stop in Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.

Republican U.S. Sens. Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott of South Carolina are expected to fly on Air Force One with Trump.
